Our camp dues are relatively small (usually less than $25 per person) and we don't generally do meal plans as a whole, but no one would discourage individual people from setting one up together. In a way, this list is meant as the pennsic planning meeting, so that we can all coordinate through here. I'd volunteer my house to meet, but I know that none of the campers would want to come all the way down to Magnolia for it... I think all the pertinent info was going to be sent out, once there was a complete list of campers available to them. We do have a shower... a nice one, I hear. I have been remiss in posting the camp rules. We don't normally host an in person meeting but can resolve any issues here. Below are the standard rules we run the camp by. At this point the only thing to do, is supply me your tent and rope sizes and expected arrival // departure times. If you have any concerns or particular questions I would be glad to address them. We have a relaxed camp, basking in the shade but there is some sunny areas if you want them. See ya at Pennsic, Padraig Pennsic XXXVIII (2009) Encampment Rules -- borrowed/gathered/gleaned from a number of sources. The Coopers require all campers to have permission from the group's Land Agent prior to registering. Lady Hedewigis is the Land agent and will be doing Land Grab. But I will be receiving all request to camp and compile the list of this years campers, for her. I am doing it this year to take some of load off of are Seneschal. Please do not register first and ask permission later. It is not fair to those who follow the rules. The following list of rules are to ensure an enjoyable camping experience and to avoid any misunderstanding of how the camp will run. 1. All camp members are expected to join the Caer Adamant Pennsic Yahoo! group. This is our primary means of communication. (Go to the Caer-Adamant website and click on "e-mail lists") 2. Once settled, all camp members are expected to wear a reasonable attempt at "Period" clothing while in camp. 3. Everyone will have an opportunity to fill and light the communal tiki torches, clean up the fire pit and common areas, and take trash to the dumpster. The camp fee pays for supplies, not service. 4. Fires (in the fire pit) must be attended at all times. Fires in tents are frowned upon. 5. Clean up after yourself. To avoid the appearance of issuing an open invitation to local mammalian residents, please clean dishes and secure trash and food. That said, cleaning up the morning after a party is perfectly understandable. 6. NO SMOKING IN THE PORTA-JOHNS! It is a confined space and the smoke lingers. 7. No whining. No psycho-drama. This is our holiday. Be happy! 8. If in doubt, Camp Daddy Padraig has the final word. Camp fee/tax has yet to be determined.(Probably $25.00) This year we will have a Culligan water-softening system, which will make it unnecessary for camp members to purchase bottled water (this system makes even Pennsic water wonderful). The shower stall with hot water will be available. If I get it done I will have a trailer with a shower and changing area. A stock pile of fire wood for the fire pit will be on hand. Tiki torches will be used to light the common walking areas. Additionally, as more campers join us, our space will become tighter. We have enjoyed a fairly open encampment in the past, but that might change. Be aware you may be required to give up 15% or more of your 250 square foot allotment to accommodate fire pit, walking/driving lanes, water point and showers, etc. Time will tell. This is usually not required as we normally have extra space. Our site enjoys a fair amount of shade, but with that comfort comes uneven terrain. Understand that your tent location will likely have bumps, dips, stumps, and tilts. Additionally, while we will do our best to eradicate poison ivy, we can not guarantee your location will be poison ivy free. In other words, come prepared! It is necessary for me to have your shelter size ( including ropes), expected day and time of arrival / departure, and any request for particular set up sites(previous use gets preference). This info is needed a minimum of two weeks before Pennsic. Earlier is helpful. I hope to see all previous campers and we welcome new folks to our little hamlet in the woods. Pennsic bound, Padraig O'Gealagain P.S. My husband and I are very excited, and can't wait to start our vacation. We have a nice off the ground fire pit with a grate for cooking and a spark lid. We also have a nice sized EZ-up that we can bring if there is room, or it is needed. We would love to help contribute to the camp. Is there anything that we can bring? We will be there the second week, but I could always donate to the camp early. -- Ellen "Poetry is not truth, It's just deception with a little class." --- On Sat, 6/27/09, ogealagain at juno.com wrote: From: ogealagain at juno.com Subject: [Pennsic] Pennsic camp rules To: pennsic at caer-adamant.org Date: Saturday, June 27, 2009, 7:37 AM Ellen , ?
