Thursday practices will end 27 October, and the last Sunday will be 20 November. * * **Chatelaine* (Magdalena) -- Newark Halloween Parade is Sunday 30 October. Line-up is at 2:00 p.m. in the park across from Newark High School. Parade begins at 3:00. Contact Magdalena with questions. * * **Chronicler *(Alexi) -- Has a smart phone now, and the search for a new Chronicler continues. A letter of intent has been submitted. * * **Exchequer* (Kael) -- Balance as of 30 October 2011, $6, 174.40. 3Q2011 report has been filed with Kingdom. * * **Herald* (Shoshana) -- We have a new/old Herald at-large in our midst (Eugene -- new resident in Dover). Wulf is intending to run for the position of Herald in February. Looking to work with anyone interested in Heraldry (afternoon or evening). * * **Knight Marshal* (Mark) -- People keep fighting. Between 4 and 9 at each practice. Shire Heavy Weapons Tourney is this weekend (23 October, 1 - 4 p.m.) at Glasgow Park. All are encouraged to attend and bring visual heraldry and pomp. An additional practice will be held in concurrence with the last Thursday Archery practice, 27 October from 5:00 until dark, at Padraig's. * * **Minister of Arts & Sciences* (Margaret) -- Nothing much new except A&S Nights (Mistress Sarra the Lymner presented period "signatures" in October. Is back in the good graces of the Kingdom MoAS. * * **Seneschal *(Hedewigis) -- 3Q2011 Report to Kingdom was submitted on time. * * * * *Old Business*** **Website:* Shoshana. Could not find a web designer that was appropriately priced. Adolphus will check with a household member for possibilities. Need to renew the domain name, but need to find out who to pay. * * **Dover Behavioral Health Donation: *Received a $200.00 cheque from Dover Behavioral Health, for our Demo there in September. **By-Laws Revision --* Committee will meet via weblist. Suggested modifications will be presented at a future meeting. * * **Business Cards* -- Previous approval was given for funds for business cards and flyers. Arthur Alyn developed some designs which were presented, discussed, and modified. Shoshana suggested we print through Visaprint, an inexpensive source of business cards. **Shire Device Embroidery Card* -- Shoshana will be getting card soon so we can produce Shire favors. * *Elections -- *The offices of Seneschal, Chatelain, Minister of Arts & Sciences, and Captain of Archers are coming up for election in February 2011. In addition, Alexi has announced that he intends to step down as Chronicler. Please consider contacting the current office-holder if you have any interest in a position. * * ** Meeting Locations --* Inspired by Lewin's post to the Yahoo list, a discussion was held at the September meeting, and continued this month. Adolphus will look into his place of employment as a possible site. Alexi will look into VFW Dover. Will revisit at next meeting. * * **Everyday Thynge: The Laird's Kitchen. *(Margaret and Shoshana): Bid submitted for 3 March 2012. Will do a lot of promotion via weblists, letters, and cards/flyers. Very simple dayboard (by Margaret and Shoshana), Casey will do feast (all attendees are on-board for feast). Many classes are already lined up. Shoshana will develop a webpage for the event to link from the event list, and an event page for Facebook. Event proposal was approved. * * * * *New Business:* *Heavy Weapons Championship:* Due to the cancellation of Swamp Thynge, the traditional event to determine the Caer Adamant Champions, Lord Wulf issued a challenge to all fighters to determine the next Shire Heavy Weapons Champion on Sunday 23 October 2011, at the "regular" practice site in Glasgow Park. Sybill will serve as MoL. *Seneschal change: * Hedewigis will be taking over the position of East Kingdom Seneschal at Bhakail Yule, 3 December 2011. Baron Padraig, long serving as the Caer Adamant Deputy Seneschal, will be assuming the duties of Shire Seneschal for the December, January, and February Business Meetings, and will see to the February elections and turn-over of offices. *MoL:* Re-confirmed the non-voting, by appointment, position that was announced previously. *Elections: * Letters of intent will be due beginning in November for the positions of Seneschal, Chronicler, MoAS, Captain of Archers, Herald, and Chronicler. *Demo: *Newark Halloween Parade Sunday 30 October. Details under Chatelaine's report. *Cloisters Trip:* Alexi and Shoshana will be arranging a trip in November/December.
