Will catch up. Is talking with a potential replacement. * * **Exchequer* (Kael) -- Balance $6,173.89. Financial policies v. 2.1 presented for perusal. Will be sent to the Officers for full review and discussion. Kael also identified those portions of the By-Laws that would need to be removed or updated. * * **Herald* (Shoshana) -- "quack" That's about it. New Deputy, Wulf, who is interested in becoming Herald. He is quite good at it. * * **Knight Marshal* (Mark) -- More and more people can't get along. Usually 5 - 9 people at practice now. * * **Minister of Arts & Sciences* (Margaret) -- Games were played at the demo. The Seneschal has been holding A&S Nights at her home. Mark is getting a new gambeson. Thursday sewing meetings are being hosted by Sybill. * * **Seneschal *(Hedewigis) -- No additional information beyond the Old and New Business items. * * *Old Business:* **Website:* Shoshona has contacted a web designer who will provide a quote and mock-up for a re-designed site. Hugo suggested searching the Kingdom sites to see what we like and use them for models. Everyone is encouraged to search other local sites for ideas and inspiration and post ideas to the Yahoo group. * * **Dover Behavioral Health Demo *(Magdalena): Demo happened. They fed us. No injuries or deaths. Discussion: One suggestion was to make some child-sized archery safety equipment. Margaret has patterns. Will need suede for finger tabs and mid-stiff leather for bracers. Another suggestion for future demos is to have an "MC" for the fighters, to explain what is going on to the attendees. Thank you to all who attended to make this a success. ** * * *New Business:* **Dover Behavioral Health Donation: *Adolphus contacted me to let us know the hospital would like to make a donation to the Shire. More information to follow. **Demo -- Chesapeake Celtic Festival.* Greetings from your neighbors to the south (and west). We have a nice demo with available camping the first weekend in October - Chesapeake Celtic Festival. We can promise heavy fighting Sat. and Sun. and good company throughout. Will revisit at next meeting. * * **Everyday Thynge: The Laird's Kitchen. (*Brief presentation by Margaret and Shoshona) What real people ate and had access to on a daily basis. Carry-over of Scottish theme with a period focus. Are populating the work positions and will be continuing to fill the spots. Additional ideas include: drinking vessels for tokens; an award for the most-period table display; build our collection of loaner-feast gear and not offer disposable. Two tracks: SCA traditions and Period-appropriate. Possible date: 4 or 18 Feb, 3, 31 March. Formal bid will come next month. *Upcoming Activities: * * Saturday 12 November will the the Lionshead Tavern, a day of brewing, dance, an A&S competition with a Lion's head theme, and a feast.
